about the cheshire area

the farm

The cottage is located on our 130 acre Dairy farm. We welcome the chance to show people around the farm and to explain the day to day activities, such as milking and feeding the calves. We also have hens, ducks and a rabbit to see.

the local area

The local footpath network is easily accessible as is the towpath of the Shorpshire union canal. With views across the fields to the surrounding woods you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Cheshire countryside but be conveniently located for the choice of the local pubs (nearest ½ mile) or the local farm shop (1 mile). The local town of Nantwich has a fine selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets as well as an excellent selection of upmarket shopping choices.

Canal and Blue Bells in Woods

location - central for day trips

The attractions of Cheshire are many and range from the historic towns of Nantwich and Chester to the gardens of Tatton Park and Arley Hall. For the children a visit to Chester Zoo, the Hack Green nuclear bunker or Jodrell Bank will occupy enquiring minds. For those who enjoy walking there are many local routes including the Sandstone Trail past Beeston Castle and for the motor racing fans Oulton Park is within half an hour.

We are ideally placed to explore in all directions- the mountains and seaside of North Wales and the Peak District National Park (Alton Towers being about 1 hour away) are both within reasonable travelling distance for a day out, as are the retail delights of the Trafford Centre, Cheshire Oaks and the new Liverpool One.
